Washington PCA 2013

Call for papers
Popular Culture Association / American Culture Association
Annual Conference
27 March – 30 March 2013
Washington Marriott Wardman Park

It’s time to think about next year’s Popular Culture Association conference. The Australasian area of the Popular Culture Association invites papers from everyone. On any topic – does not have to be Australasian! Our panels are fun and very lively – lots of great discussion. Hopefully you will be able to turn your paper into an article for our journal.

If you’ve not been to a PCA conference – this is a GREAT opportunity to meet with publishers and pitch your book idea. There are also scholarships/funds available and in the past we’ve had quite a bit of success from our small group. So don’t be afraid (or too lazy) to apply – http://pcaaca.org/grants/. For Aussies this one is particularly relevant – http://pcaaca.org/madonna-marsden-travel-grant/.

Thousands of people attend so it’s also a great place to make those important contacts: for sabbatical (whoops I mean special study leave/personal development leave etc.), jobs, publishing, etc.

Please email your 100-word abstracts directly to me ASAP – I will be overseas from 16 November – 9 December but checking my emails.

Final submission date is 30 November.
